This article discusses the results of a recent Norton study by Symantec (owners of Clearwell, and SRM Legal strategic partner).
This article provides insight into the growth of cybercrime, and provides some alarming statistics, "...global cybercrime is $114 billion annually. What is more shocking is the total bill for cybercrime footed by online adults in 24 countries placed at $274 billion over last year."
The article goes on to state, "Globally, the most common type of cybercrime is computer viruses and malware with 54 percent of the 19,636 respondents to the study saying that they have experienced it in their lifetime. Online scams (11 percent) and phishing messages (10 percent) follow."
As the headline of this article notes, this equates to more than 1 million victims daily. Rather frightening.
