The world’s fastest man Usain Bolt continues his bid to redeem himself as the Olympic champion competes in the 200-metre semi-finals at the National Championships inside the National Stadium.

Bolt is down to run in Heat 3 of the men’s 200-metre semi-finals after clocking 21.21 seconds in the preliminary round this morning.

The 100- and 200-metre world record holder suffered his second defeat in two years last night, when stunned by World champion Yohan Blake, his training partner.

Blake won the 100-metre showdown in an impressive world leading 9.75. Bolt was second in 9.86 following a slow start, while Asafa Powell finished third in 9.88.

Blake will also be in action tonight. He runs in Heat 2 of the semi-finals after running 21.43 in the preliminary round.

The opening semi-final is scheduled to start at 8:35 p.m..

Meanwhile, the semi-finals of the women’s 200-metres will also take place.

Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who clocked a national record 10.70 to claim the women’s 100-metre crown, will again take the track.

Veronica Campbell-Brown, who failed to match Fraser-Pryce last night, will also be in action.

The semi-finals and final of the men’s 110-metre hurdles, along with the semi-finals of the men’s and women’s 400-metres will also take place today.
